Grounding Shadows
Grounding shadows should be used on product photography to provide a sense of place, denote an overhead light source, and accentuate the product.
To ensure consistency only use the shadow located in the template download.
Do not alter the shadow. The shadow standard was designed to work across a variety of footwear silhouettes without needing to be altered.
Alignment & Scale
The shadow should look realistic. The shadow should be placed relative to the bottom of the shoe. When placed correctly, the width of the shoe should match the width of the shadow. The shadow should appear to realistically fade under the heel and toe. The shoe may need to be rotated slightly to properly align with the shadow. Do not rotate the shadow to accommodate the shoe.
